How to create and manage Awards
Winners > Awards
Awards are how you mark entries as winners in Evalato. Assigning an award to an entry determines whether that entry receives a certificate, whether it appears on your winner lists, and how it's labeled as a winner throughout the program.
Create an award
- Go to Winners > Awards.
- Click Create new to open the award settings.
- Give it a Name — this is both the internal label and what winners and visitors see wherever the award is shown.
Set up the award
- Name – the award's title (e.g. "Gold," "Grand Prix Finalist").
- Color – sets the award's label color, used wherever the award appears on entries and lists.
- Badge – optionally upload a visual badge image for the award, shown alongside the label.
- Dark Background – toggle on if your badge needs a dark background to stand out.
- Visibility – controls who can see the award and what it unlocks. See below.
Assign the award to entries
- Go to Entries.
- Select the entry or entries that should receive the award.
- Click Set awards and choose the award from the list.
If you need to create or edit an award without leaving the Entries page, the Set awards dropdown also has a Manage awards shortcut.
What Visibility controls
An award's Visibility setting decides what winning that award actually unlocks for the entrant:
- Hidden – the award is set up but not announced anywhere. It doesn't appear to the entrant, doesn't show on any list, and no certificate is issued for it.
- Private – the entrant sees the award in their Applicant portal and can download its certificate there (if one is assigned to that award). On winner lists, it only shows up if the list is password-protected.
- Public – the award is visible everywhere: in the Applicant portal, on open winner lists, and anywhere else the entry is displayed.
This one setting controls the label and badge on the entry, the entry's certificate, and its place on your winner lists.
