Customizing the number field

Settings > Forms > Fields > Number

The Number field lets entrants submit numerical data in a structured, validated format. It's useful whenever you need a specific number from entrants — entry revenue, team size, market share, product weight, dimensions, or any other quantitative value.

Field settings
  • Label — the name of the field as it appears on the entry form, for example "Annual revenue" or "Team size."
  • Required — toggle on if entrants must fill in this field to submit their entry.
  • Description — optional text displayed below the field label to guide entrants on what to enter.
  • Tooltip — optional additional guidance displayed as a tooltip icon next to the field label.
  • Minimum value — the lowest number an entrant can submit. Leave empty for no lower limit.
  • Maximum value — the highest number an entrant can submit. Leave empty for no upper limit.
  • Decimal places — how many digits to show after the decimal separator. Leave empty to display the value exactly as entered.
  • Number format — controls how thousands and decimals are separated. Leave empty to use your organization's default number format.
  • Prefix — text displayed before the number, for example "$", "USD." You can add a space after the text to separate it from the number.
  • Suffix — text displayed after the number, for example "%" or "kg." You can add a space before the text to separate it from the number.
  • Data access — controls who can see the data entered in this field:
    • Everyone — visible during public voting, when published via Winners > Lists, and to program judges and organization members in Evalato.
    • Admins and judges — visible to program judges and organization members in Evalato.
    • Admins only — visible only to the members of your organization in Evalato.

A Preview at the bottom of the form updates in real time to show how the number will be displayed to entrants based on your settings.
