How to make applications anonymous

You can make applications in Evalato anonymous by using the Data access setting and adjusting the application name field.

It is possible to make applications in Evalato anonymous if, for example, you want the jury to evaluate the applications without knowing who the applicants are. You can do that by hiding certain fields in the application form from judges using the Data access setting and selecting the appropriate application name field.

IMPORTANT: The information provided in the registration form, which includes name and email, is not available to judges or the public during the evaluation process.

Using the Data access setting

To make applications anonymous, you can opt to hide certain fields from the application form. To do that, when adding fields to your application form, you can use the Data access setting to choose who can see the information provided in that field. If you select Admins only, only admins will be able to see the information provided in that specific field.

Setting the Use as application name field

The application name field cannot be hidden since the application appears on all lists for judging, public voting, etc., under that name. This means that to keep applications anonymous, you should select the Use as application name option for a field that doesn't reveal the applicant's identity.

By default, the Name field is set to "Use as application name". To change the field that's used as application name, go to Settings > Forms, open the form you wish to edit, then choose a new field (the Name, Text, and Company fields have this option) to be used as the application name on the lists.

You can also use the Description field to specify that the information filled out in the field used as the application name should not reveal the applicant’s identity. The information in the Description field is only visible to the applicant.
